DTEK reports emergency power outages across Ukraine
MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - Automated protection systems of energy infrastructure have been activated due to frequency drop in the unified power grid, causing emergency power outages across Ukraine, the Ukrainian media said, citing information from the DTEK energy holding published on social networks.
"Ukrenergo specialists are working to understand the cause of frequency drop. As of 2:32 p.m., Ukrenergo has allowed resuming power supply," the report said.
A hour earlier, DTEK reported emergency power outages in the center of Kiev and the resumption of power supply by reserve schemes.
The Ukrainian media also reported power outages in certain homes in various parts of Odessa and partial suspension of electric transport service and referred to DTEK to explain them with a power transmission line accident.
No such information from DTEK has appeared on social networks.
