Zelensky's possible presence at European Political Community summit made secret for security reasons - Moldovan interior minister

MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's possible participation in the upcoming European Political Community summit scheduled for June 1 in Moldova has been made secret for security reasons, according to Moldovan Interior Minister Ana Revenco, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the Moldovan publication NewsMaker.

"Moldova will host a European Political Community summit on June 1, which should bring together about 50 European leaders. Most of them have already confirmed their participation. However, it is still unknown whether Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will arrive in Moldova," it said.

The publication quoted Moldovan Interior Minister Ana Revenco as saying on ProTV that information on the Ukrainian president's possible arrival "must be kept secret for considerations of Mr. Zelensky's immediate security." Revenco also said that the Moldovan authorities treated this necessity with respect.

According to NewsMaker, the European Political Community summit is to be held at the Castel Mimi estate in the village of Bulboaca outside of Chisinau. It is expected to be attended by about 50 presidents and prime ministers, as well as heads of European Union governing bodies.
