Russia committed to political and diplomatic settlement of Ukraine conflict - Lavrov to Beijing envoy
MOSCOW. May 26 (Interfax) - Kiev and the West have created obstacles to a resumption of peace talks on Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a meeting with Chinese Special Representative for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui.
Lavrov received Li in Moscow on Friday, and the two exchanged views on the Ukraine situation, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"The Russian foreign minister reiterated Moscow's commitment to a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict, [and] noted the serious obstacles to resuming peace negotiations that have been created by the Ukrainian side and its Western overseers," the ministry said.
