Kremlin has no info yet on Germany initiating Putin-Scholz phone call - Peskov

MOSCOW. May 26 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin is open to dialogue with his foreign counterparts, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said, commenting on a statement of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about intending to resume telephone calls with the Russian president and adding that he is not aware of Germany initiating anything.

Reporters asked Peskov to comment on the relevant statement by Scholz.

"I don't have any information yet on Germany initiating a telephone call. Phone calls are needed, President Putin remains open to dialogue while, naturally, pursuing the main goal, which is protecting our country's interests," Peskov told reporters.
