Crimea head scraps Covid-19 regional restrictions

ROSTOV-ON-DON. May 26 (Interfax) - Crimea head Sergei Aksyonov has fully scrapped Covid-19 regional restrictions by an order published on the Crimean government's website.

"Declare Order No. 63-U of the head of the Republic of Crimea dated March 17, 2020, on high alert in the territory of the Republic of Crimea null and void," Aksyonov said in his new order.

He also invalidated every order that amended the initial document, including the latest edition endorsed in December 2022.

The Crimea and Sevastopol branch of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing said on Friday that 25 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in Crimea on May 25, bringing the total number of cases to 217,100. A total of 64,000 Covid-19 patients have been hospitalized to date, including eight in the past 24 hours.
