Deputy PMs of Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan to meet in Moscow - Russia's Overchuk
MOSCOW/YEREVAN. May 26 (Interfax) - A meeting of deputy prime ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia will take place in Moscow next week, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk said.
Such a meeting will be held "in Moscow", Overchuk told reporters in response to the relevant question.
When asked whether another meeting of the three countries' leaders could take place after these talks, Overchuk said that "it is up to them to decide."
At their meeting, the deputy prime ministers will discuss, among other issues, the procedure for crossing the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, he said. Both countries "have a similar understanding of how the process of unblocking should go," he added.
"We are speaking about technical details now. These are very important details, because they deal exactly with the procedure for crossing the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, with how border, customs and other controls will be exercised," Overchuk said.
"We will discuss specifically what border crossing arrangements and procedures there will be," he said.
The Armenian government, in turn, said that an agreement over a meeting of deputy prime ministers of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan had been reached.
"The meeting between Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev took place in the Kremlin. They discussed issues related to unblocking regional transport and economic infrastructures," the government's press service said.
An agreement was achieved to continue this work in a week's time, at a meeting of the three countries' deputy prime ministers, it said.
