All restrictions on int'l food supplies must be lifted to eliminate hunger in needy countries - Russian Security Council secretary

MOSCOW. May 25 (Interfax) - All restrictions and sanctions on food supplies must be lifted, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said.

"All restrictions and sanctions on international food supplies must be lifted to eliminate hunger in needy countries," Patrushev told reporters on Thursday.

"Food products should be sent in the first instance to states suffering from food shortages, without any politicization," he said.

Many countries are now suffering from a lack food products, Patrushev said.

"Transnational corporations, which dominate global agro-industrial markets, are having a negative impact on the current situation," he said.
