Putin suggests setting up Eurasian rating agency

MOSCOW. May 25 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin suggests setting up a rating agency for Eurasian Economic Union countries.

"It would be beneficial to establish a Eurasian rating agency, which would possess the rating tools needed to serve the growing economic activity in the Eurasian economic area," he said at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

He said that when creating such an agency it would be necessary to take into account "fundamental approaches, rigorous criteria and the ability follow those criteria." "This work would have to be absolutely objective, that's the whole point of it. Otherwise it just wouldn't make sense," he said.
