Kazakhstan to tighten controls over exports to Russia - minister

ASTANA. May 24 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan will strengthen controls over the export of goods targeted by sanctions from its territory, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Yerulan Zhamaubayev said.

"We will add an extra risk management system [to track the movement of goods subject to sanctions]. And if anything is overlooked, we will track it down and not permit it," Zhamaubayev told reporters on the sidelines of a parliamentary session on Wednesday.

The European Union and the United States have provided Kazakhstan with a list of goods that are banned for sale to Russia, he said.

"We are checking everything more accurately and carefully against this list," the minister said.
