Lada St. Petersburg auto plant to launch assembly line jointly with Chinese manufacturer - Avtovaz head
SHANGHAI. May 23 (Interfax) - Avtovaz plans, during the upcoming St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, to launch jointly with a Chinese partner a conveyor line for assembling cars at a plant in St. Petersburg, Avtovaz head Maxim Sokolov told reporters.
"A conveyor line to assemble cars will be launched soon, during the upcoming St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, at the former Nissan plant, and now at the Lada St. Petersburg plant, by our joint concern with Chinese manufacturers. I will tell you which one later," Sokolov told reporters on the sidelines of the Russia-China business forum.
As reported previously, Avtovaz has been negotiating with China's three largest automakers.
