Ukraine's DTEK puts first stage of Tiligulskaya wind farm into operation

MOSCOW. May 23 (Interfax) - Ukrainian energy holding DTEK has put the first stage of the Tiligulskaya wind power station, equipped with 19 with turbines with 114 MW capacity, into operation in the country's Nikolayev region, Ukrainian media quoted DTEK's statement in social media.

The company also laid the foundation for installing another 64 wind turbines as part of the project's second stage, it said. The overall contracted capacity of the wind farm is 500 MW.

As reported earlier, the Tiligulskaya wind farm was initially expected to become operational in 2022, but the project was put on hold.

In early 2021, DTEK Renewables, which manages DTEK's renewable energy assets, and Denmark's Vestas wind turbine producer signed a contract on building the first stage of the Tiligulskaya wind farm with a capacity of 126 MW. The project envisaged subsequently increasing the facility's capacity to 564 MW.

Five-year "green" bonds issued by DTEK in 2019 for 325 million euros were expected to help fund the project.

DTEK was founded in 2005 to manage the energy assets of Rinat Akhmetov's System Capital Management Group.
