Borrell calls on Ukraine to pursue reforms needed for accession to EU, not to miss 'unique opportunity'

BRUSSELS. May 22 (Interfax) - Ukraine should accelerate its reforms and switch to European standards in order to not miss a unique chance to join the European Union, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said.

"Now it's time for them to speed up reforms to align with the European Union standards and prepare their society for accession," Borrell said at a press conference on Monday.

Ukraine's movement towards the EU is a "unique opportunity and they have to use it," he said.
