Ukraine expecting NATO summit to set timeframe for its entry into alliance

MOSCOW. May 18 (Interfax) - Ukraine would like NATO to set a timeframe for its entry into the alliance at the summit in Vilnius, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

"The summit due in Vilnius in July of this year would be crucial for both Ukraine and the entire Euro-Atlantic community. [...] It is important for us to formulate and hear the modality and to set a clear timeframe for the entry into the alliance," the Ukrainian media quoted Stefanchuk as saying at a meeting with Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt,

Stefanchuk is paying an official visit to Norway on May 16-18.
