Russian, Armenian, Azerbaijani FMs to have trilateral meeting in Moscow on Friday

MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will host a trilateral meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Moscow on Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Lavrov will also have separate bilateral meetings with his Azerbaijani and Armenian counterparts, and "there will also be separate bilateral Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations on a peace treaty," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

"The foreign policy chiefs will consider prospects for the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan, taking into account the dynamic situation in the region," she said.

Moscow expects "the upcoming contacts to facilitate Baku's and Yerevan's progress in settling disputable issues and looking for mutually acceptable solutions, as well as improve confidence between the parties in general and promote stability in the South Caucasus," she said.
