Mastercard opens representative office in Uzbekistan
TASHKENT. May 16 (Interfax) - Mastercard, the operator of one of the largest payment systems in the world, has opened an official representative office in Uzbekistan, the company's press service said on Tuesday.
"Mastercard is committed to promoting financial inclusion in Uzbekistan and Central Asia through innovative digital payment solutions," Dimi Dosis, company president for the region of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said.
In 2022 Mastercard signed a three-year digital partnership agreement with the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, as well as a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Digital Technologies for cooperation in the digitalization of small and medium enterprises, cybersecurity, tourism and the financial literacy of its users, Mastercard's press service said.
