Delivery Club to rebrand, expand delivery of non-food products from stores

MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - Delivery Club will continue operating under the Market Delivery brand, Yandex's food tech direction told Interfax, with the name change taking place in early summer.

Market Delivery will also develop express delivery of various categories of retail goods, including electronics, household items, and others. The service has been actively solidifying the non-food direction for several months by launching delivery of consumer goods, as well as delivery from pharmacies, pet shops, and adult stores.

The service will maintain the usual restaurant line, with users being able to switch between the two choices of store delivery and ordering ready-made food.

Yandex also said that it would boost investments in developing Delivery Club, though the company has not disclosed the exact amount.

A source familiar with the situation told Interfax that the figure could be hundreds of millions of rubles in investment by the end of 2023.

Delivery from stores will continue in Yandex Food, though the main focus of the service remains delicacies and scenarios related to diet planning. The Yandex ecosystem also includes the Lavka and Market 15 express delivery services.

Delivery Club entered Yandex's asset portfolio in September last year following the exchange of assets in the areas of content and food delivery between Yandex and VK .
