Moldova's Central Bank lowers inflation forecast to 13.3% for 2023

CHISINAU. May 15 (Interfax) - the National Bank of Moldova has lowered its 2023 inflation forecast 0.4 percentage points to 13.3% the bank's president, Octavian Armashu, said at a press conference on Monday.

In 2024, inflation in Moldova will reach 5.1%, which is also 0.4 p.p. less than the National Bank predicted at the beginning of the year, he said.

"Improvement of the forecast became possible due to the timely adoption of National Bank's monetary policy measures, price reduction and adjustment of the forecast for the economy in the Eurozone," the National Bank of Moldova said in a press release.
