Medvedev: Chances of holding Nord Stream blast perpetrators to account negligible

ST. PETERSBURG. May 12 (Interfax) - Russia will continue to work towards holding those who blew up the Nord Stream gas pipelines to account, but the chances of seeing justice triumph in international judicial institutions are extremely small, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said.

"Of course, we will continue to employ all available legal tools to hold those responsible to account, but the chances of doing this in international judicial institutions are negligible," Medvedev said at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum on Friday.

Regarding an investigation into the gas pipeline blasts, "the European countries, as if by design, have forgotten about their obligations under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and the Convention for the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings," he said.
