Legendagro to build rapeseed processing plant in Krasnoyarsk Territory, invest 6 bln rubles

KRASNOYARSK. May 12 (Interfax) - The Russian-Chinese Legendagro group intends to build a plant for processing rapeseed in Nazarovo in Krasnoyarsk Territory. The launch of the enterprise is planned for 2025, according to the website of the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation.

The plant in Nazarovo will become the first modern oil extraction plant for processing rapeseed in Eastern Siberia, representatives of Legendagro said.

The planned volume of investment in the project is over 6 billion rubles. The design capacity of the plant will be nearly 330,000 tonnes of products per year, which includes the production of more than 140,000 tonnes of hydrated rapeseed oil, more than 180,000 tonnes of rapeseed meal and more than 2,000 tonnes of rapeseed lecithin.

There are plans to export rapeseed oil and lecithin to the countries of Northeast Asia, and rapeseed meal will be sold on the domestic market and exported to countries in Central Asia, as well as to other countries farther afield.

"Krasnoyarsk Territory is a leader in terms of rapeseed production. The favorable location of the region near the main consumers of rapeseed processing products makes it attractive for investments in this area," Dmitry Savenkov, CEO of the Legendagro group, said in a release.

Legendagro is a Russian-Chinese vertically integrated agricultural holding in the Far East. It is involved in crop production, advanced oilseed processing, trading and logistics. The main shareholder of Legendagro is the Chinese Jiawo Beidahuang Agricultural Holdings Co., Ltd.
