French govt to help Ukraine's Energoatom procure spare parts for diesel generators via IAEA

MOSCOW. May 10 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Energoatom nuclear power enterprise, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and France's Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs signed a cooperation agreement on May 5, 2023, enabling France to help Energoatom procure spare parts for diesel generators via the IAEA.

"For Energoatom, cooperation with the French government is important and significant, as it will help the company procure equipment that is crucial to the safety of nuclear power plants," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Energoatom Vice President Hartmut Jacob as saying in a statement circulated by the company on social media.

Jacob signed the agreement on behalf of Ukraine in Kiev, while Energoatom's partners did so in Vienna.
