Ukraine's KSG Agro holding to reduce area sown with sunflowers 15% in 2023

MOSCOW. May 10 (Interfax) - Ukraine's KSG Agro holding plans to reduce the area sown with sunflowers 15% year-on-year to 7,300 hectares in 2023, Ukrainian media reported, citing the agricultural holding's press service.

"We are fully satisfied with the weather conditions in which the sowing campaign is underway. The deposits of moisture in the soil are rather sufficient. The warm weather since the beginning of May has been contributing to efficient sowing in order to obtain high-quality sunflower crops," according to the statement.

As reported, the agricultural holding last year sowed 8,500 hectares with sunflowers.

Vertically integrated KSG Agro holding is engaged in pig breeding, as well as the production, storage, processing, and sale of grains and oilseeds.
