Unipro shareholders may get right to elect CEO - EGM info

MOSCOW. May 10 (Interfax) - Shareholders in Unipro could get the right to elect and terminate the powers of the company's CEO, according to information for an extraordinary meeting of shareholders.

The generating company could also disband the executive board, according to a new version of its charter submitted for voting.

The Unipro EGM will be held in absentia on June 1. Its agenda includes the approval of a new version of the company's charter and the abolition of the regulation on the executive board. The register for participating in the meeting closed on May 7.

The Russian president issued a decree at the end of April to introduce temporary management of Fortum's and Uniper's Russian assets. The decree applies to 83.73% of shares in PJSC Unipro and 98.23% of shares in PJSC Fortum. The Federal Property Agency was designated the temporary manager.

After that, the boards of directors of the companies, at the Federal Property Agency's request, changed the general directors. Vasily Nikonov, head of the Energy Department at Rosneft, became the head Unipro.

Uniper said at the time that it had effectively been unable exercise day-to-day management of the Russian asset since the end of 2022.
