Zelensky returns to Kiev, meets with Bahraini FM

MOSCOW. May 5 (Interfax) - Upon returning to Kiev from a trip to Finland and the Netherlands, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky met with Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the presidential press service.

"The head of state pointed out that this has been the first visit of a Bahraini foreign policy chief to Ukraine since the two countries established diplomatic relations in July 1992," it said on Friday.

"This is an important message on interaction and support between our states," Zelensky said.

He also highlighted the importance of Bahrain's humanitarian aid for Ukraine and its citizens and invited the country to join diplomatic efforts for achieving peace.

The Ukrainian president and the Bahraini foreign minister also exchanged opinions on Bahrain's involvement in Ukraine's post-crisis reconstruction.
