Rosatom signs new contract to supply Brazil with natural uranium

MOSCOW. May 4 (Interfax) - Rosatom continues to cooperate with Brazil's INB on delivering uranium products, and the two companies signed another contract on Thursday, Rosatom said in a statement, citing its first deputy general director, Kirill Komarov.

Rosatom has for several years been among the biggest suppliers of isotope products for Brazil's nuclear medicine. In addition, recent years have seen active cooperation on the nuclear fuel cycle, the statement said.

In late 2022, Rosatom also announced a contract between its company for exporting nuclear material, Tekhsnabexport, and INB to deliver enriched uranium products to the Angra nuclear power plant in 2023-2027.

"This is the state corporation's first ever long-term contract with Brazil for supplying enriched uranium products, which opens the door to the largest market for uranium products in the Latin American region," Rosatom said at the time.
