Reftinskaya poultry farm certifies products for export to Persian Gulf countries
YEKATERINBURG. May 3 (Interfax) - JSC Reftinskaya Poultry Farm, located in the Sverdlovsk Region, has received an international Halal certificate for export to new directions, the press service of the Ural Agro-Industrial Group, Reftinskaya's management company, said in a statement.
The certificate will allow the company to supply products to countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Persian Gulf, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Iran.
"Auditors from Gulftic-ICSC Halal worked at the Reftinskaya poultry farm for several days. They checked how the site of the enterprise complies with the requirements of international Halal standards. For example, do we have a prayer room, the possibility of manual slaughter of poultry at a separate site, certified carvers, and are there any haram products and ingredients," Elena Shelkovkina, head of the quality department at Reftinskaya Poultry Farm, was quoted as saying in the statement.
According to Shelkovkina, the entire group of Reftinskaya products was declared for certification, from carcasses and offal to semi-finished products and sausages.
It is noted that the poultry farm will have to register products planned for export in the future, and receive conformity certificates and shipment certificates for products to specific countries.
"The foreign economic redirection of Russia from Europe to the East could not but affect the export opportunities of agricultural enterprises. We see a serious request from the eastern countries for Russian products," Ural Agro-Industrial Group's press service quotes managing director Irina Makarova as saying.
According to the company, specialists from the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) certified the Reftinskaya poultry farm in December 2022, and the company received permission to export products to the Persian Gulf countries.
Reftinskaya Poultry Farm was registered in 1993. The company's main area is the breeding of poultry.
