JYSK retailer's furniture export from Ukraine sees 1.5-fold increase in April

MOSCOW. May 3 (Interfax) - The Danish furniture and home furnishings chain JYSK exported furniture products from Ukraine worth 2.11 million euros in April 2023, which is 46.7% more than in April 2021, JYSK Country Manager in Ukraine Yevgeny Ivanitsa told Ukrainian media.

"It is gratifying that in April JYSK increased the overall amount of procurement of goods in Ukraine not only in comparison with 2022, when it exported products worth 1.438 million euros, but also in comparison with pre-crisis 2021, with its 1.704 million euros," Ivanitsa said.

As an example, he referred to Billund furniture, named after a town in Jutland, Denmark, which is manufactured by the Akkord company in Khmelnitsky.

As reported, the JYSK chain opened two new stores in Ukraine in 2023, and announced the reopening of its store at the Riviera shopping mall in Odessa and of two more - in Kolomia, Ivano-Frankovsk region, and in Kiev.

JYSK is part of the family-owned Lars Larsen Group. The retailer's revenue in the 2021/22 financial year stood at 4.87 billion euros.

JYSK operates 84 stores in Ukraine and has the jysk.ua online store. JYSK's Ukraine staff is over 800 people.
