Russian cosmonauts to conduct spacewalk early on May 4 - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. May 2 (Interfax) - The earlier postponed spacewalk of a Russian crew from the International Space Station (ISS) should happen in the early hours of May 4 Moscow time, Russia's Roscosmos space corporation said.

The crew conducted preparations for an extravehicular activity (EVA 57) set for the early hours of May 4, training in line with a Russian program, according to Roscosmos's report on the Russian crew's work on board the ISS for the period from April 29 through May 1.

Roscosmos said on April 24 that a spacewalk previously scheduled for April 26 was postponed until early May for "a more detailed study of its tasks."

It said Russian cosmonauts Sergei Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin were preparing for the upcoming spacewalk in a routine manner.

The United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) said the same day that the Russian crew was preparing for spacewalks on May 3 and May 12.

On April 19, Prokopyev and Petelin conducted a spacewalk outside the ISS to move a radiative heat exchanger from the Rassvet module to the Nauka module using the European Robotic Arm (ERA).
