Ukrainian govt approves Ukraine-EU Association Committee decision on mutual access to public procurement markets - Shmygal

MOSCOW. May 2 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has approved a decision by the Ukraine-EU Association Committee and the Association Council on mutual access to each other's public procurement markets, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"Making an important step toward EU membership. Synchronizing Ukrainian and European public procurement standards. Have approved the Ukraine-EU Association Committee and Association Council decision on mutual access to each other's public procurement markets. This concerns central, regional, and local government bodies and public law organizations in Ukraine and the European Union," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying on his social account following a government meeting last Friday.

Ukraine will continue to honor its European integration commitments and advance the start of negotiations on joining the EU, he said.
