Power plants start annual maintenance campaign as part of winterization - Ukrenergo

MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - The power plants incorporated in Ukraine's unified power system have started an annual maintenance campaign, which is a mandatory element in preparations for the next winter period, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the national power grid operator Ukrenergo's social media post on Wednesday.

"At the present time, the suspension of several power units for maintenance has been compensated for by active operations of hydropower plants and renewable energy sources," it said.

As of April 26, electricity production was enough to cover consumption.

"The seasonal floods are still continuing. Hydropower plants keep operating not only to cover morning and evening consumption peaks but also round the clock," it said.

Ukrenergo's maintenance crews are working at all high-voltage grid elements that have ever sustained damage, it said.
