Ukrainian govt approves state budget report for 2021 and 2022 - PM

MOSCOW. April 25 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has approved a report on the execution of the state budget for 2021 and 2022, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"The decision is aimed at transparency of the state, and this is an approval of a report on the implementation of the State Budget for 2021 and 2022. Despite unprecedented challenges, we managed to fully fund all key expenditures of the Ukrainian budget," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying in a statement at a government meeting on Tuesday.

The country's defense spending has been increased ninefold year-on-year in 2022, and security spending has also been raised by two-and-a-half times year-on-year, the prime minister said.

Additionally, spending on social protection of the population rose 25%, while healthcare expenditures went up 8%, he said.

The report on the enforcement of the law on the Ukrainian state budget for 2021 was approved with the revenue at 1,296,896.5 trillion UAH, expenditures at 1,491,206.4 trillion UAH, with the amount of refunds at 9,109.6 billion UAH and the volume of loans granted at 13,643.5 billion UAH with a deficit of 198,843.8 billion UAH, representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk said on social media.

The report on the implementation of the law on the Ukrainian state budget for 2022 was also approved with the revenue at 1,787,711.1 trillion UAH, expenditures at 2,705,749.6 trillion UAH, with the amount of refunds at 12,333.7 billion UAH and the volume of loans granted at 9,163.2 billion UAH and with a deficit of 914,868 billion UAH.

The decision was made to submit reports to the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian President and the Accounts Chamber, it said.
