Kotyukov introduced as acting governor of Russia's Krasnoyarsk Territory

KRASNOYARSK. April 21 (Interfax) - Russian Presidential Representative in the Siberian Federal District Anatoly Seryshev introduced Mikhail Kotyukov to the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory on Friday as the acting Krasnoyarsk governor, an Interfax correspondent said in a report.

Seryshev read out an executive order of Russian President Vladimir Putin that appoints Kotyukov acting governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Earlier, Putin accepted resignation of Krasnoyarsk Governor Alexander Uss and appointed Russian Deputy Finance Minister Kotyukov acting governor until the new governor is elected and takes the office.

Born in Krasnoyarsk, Kotyukov served as a deputy head of the Krasnoyarsk territorial administration, head of the finance department and finance minister of the territorial government in 2007-2010. He was in charge of the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations in 2013-2018, and was the Russian minister of science and higher education in 2018-2020.
