SK Water Solutions to build 100MW solar power plant in Kazakhstan's Zhambyl region

ASTANA. April 21 (Interfax) - SK Water Solutions plans to build a 100 MW solar power plant in Kazakhstan's Zhambyl region production solar panels there.

Zhambyl region Governor Governor Nurzhigitov met with SK Water Solutions General Director Sergey Gromov to discuss the allocation of land for a solar power project and the company's plans to start the production of solar panels with a Turkish company.

The Zhambyl region boasts 21 renewable energy facilities with a total capacity of 451.3 MW, including six HPP with a total capacity of 24.4 MW, nine wind farms with a total capacity of 175.65 MW, and six solar plants with a capacity of 251.25 MW. The region generates nearly 20% of renewable electricity in the country.
