Wildberries planning to build 1 mln sq. m. of warehousing in Moscow region before 2024, ready to invest 45.5 bln rubles
MOSCOW. April 21 (Interfax) - Wildberries plans to expand its warehouse capacity in the Moscow region by building 1 million sq. m. of warehousing before 2024.
"The expected construction budget is estimated at 45.5 billion rubles. Financing will be at our own expense as well as from borrowed funds," the company's 2022 financial report said.
In total, the company plans to build 1.5 million sq. m. of warehouse space throughout Russia, and an additional 70,000 sq. m. in Kazakhstan. The company's construction budget is estimated at 67.5 billion rubles.
Construction and design work is already underway at facilities in Volgograd, Kursk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Ryazan, Samara, Tver, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg.
At the beginning of 2023, the total area of the Wildberries entire logistics infrastructure exceeded 2.7 million sq. m. Nearly 850,000 sq. m of warehouse facilities across Russia are still under construction, Wildberries reported in mid-February.
