Zelensky meets with Paris mayor and European Committee of the Regions president

MOSCOW. April 21 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has presented a Rescuer City award to Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo.

According to Ukrainian media reports, Zelensky, speaking at the International Summit of Cities and Regions on Thursday, thanked the nations, people and leaders "who helped Ukraine go through this most difficult winter period,"

"I'd like to particularly note the assistance of Paris, which has become one of the leaders of energy support and has consolidated partners," he said.

According to the Ukrainian presidential press service, Zelensky met with Paris Mayor Hidalgo and European Committee of the Regions President Vasco Cordeiro on the sidelines of the summit.

Zelensky thanked them for visiting Ukraine and for attending this important event.

The Ukrainian president emphasized the importance of the committee's support in mobilizing the EU's regions around the Ukraine recovery effort.

Zelensky individually thanked the Paris mayor for supporting and hosting tens of thousands of displaced Ukrainian citizens in Paris and for the more than 100 trucks with humanitarian aid sent to Ukraine.
