UNDP delivers generators for Kiev region with Japanese govt's assistance

MOSCOW. April 21 (Interfax) - The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has delivered five heavy-duty generators for critical infrastructure of the Kiev region with the assistance of the Japanese government, the Ukrainian media said, citing the regional military administration.

Generator procurement certificates were given to representatives of critical infrastructure operators on April 20. The generators will provide smooth operation of treatment and sewerage stations, heating networks, and healthcare and educational establishments, the Ukrainian media quoted the administration's statement on a social network.

Japanese Ambassador to Ukraine Kuninori Matsuda, UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine Jaco Cilliers, Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Alexander Butenko, and deputy head of the Kiev regional military administration Nikolai Boiko attended the ceremony.
