Washington ready to help Yerevan, Baku de-escalate tensions and achieve peace - U.S. embassy

YEREVAN. April 19 (Interfax) - The United States is ready to help Armenia and Azerbaijan de-escalate tensions, the U.S. embassy in Yerevan said.

"In her meetings with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, National Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan, and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Normalization Envoy Ruben Rubinyan, Deputy Assistant Secretary Olson underscored the strength of U.S.-Armenian bilateral ties," the embassy press service said.

During her meetings in Yerevan, Olson "also stressed the readiness of the United States to help Armenia and Azerbaijan achieve a de-escalation of tensions and find a long-term, comprehensive peace," it said.
