Ukraine recalls ambassador to Belarus for consultations

MINSK. April 19 (Interfax) - Ukraine is recalling its ambassador to Belarus, Igor Kizim, for consultations in the wake of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko's meeting with acting head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin, the Ukrainian media has reported citing the country's foreign ministry on Wednesday.

"The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has decided to recall Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus Kizim for consultations. Minsk should abstain from destructive steps of the kind," the ministry said.

It condemned the Lukashenko-Pushilin meeting in Minsk on April 18 as "yet another, blatantly unfriendly action of the Republic of Belarus."
