Google could be fined millions rubles in Russia for refusing to delete banned content, hearing due April 20

MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - A court in Moscow has registered an administrative protocol regarding Google over the company's refusal to remove content prohibited in Russia.

"The court has received the administrative protocol in regard to Google LLC, which is due to be heard on April 20 by a magistrate of the 422th judicial district in the Tagansky district of Moscow," a court spokesperson told Interfax.

The protocol was filed by the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) for non-removal of content banned in Russia, which could lead to a fine of up to four million rubles.
