Wildfire season begins in over 70 regions of Russia - Emergency Situations Ministry

MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - The wildfire season has begun in 72 regions of Russia, while 28 regions have declared a wildfire alert, the press service for the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said on Tuesday.

"The wildfire season has begun in 72 regions, while 28 regions of Russia have declared a wildfire alert," the ministry said.

Ministry officers go on daily patrols with unmanned aerial vehicles to prevent fire safety violations from occurring.

The ministry said last Friday that the wildfire season had begun in 58 regions and 17 regions of Russia had declared a wildfire alert.
