Volodin announces start of arrest of Google assets worth 1 bln rub in Duma TV suit

MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - Bailiffs have begun seizing Google's assets worth one billion rubles as part of a lawsuit brought by Duma TV, Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said.

"You know that Google switched off Duma TV parliamentary television on YouTube. We took this to court, went through all the law courts, [and] won. The company must pay one billion rubles. Today the bailiffs' service has begun seizing [the company's] assets, [and are] searching for this money," Volodin told the Duma on Tuesday.

"The [Duma] security committee is being asked to monitor the bailiffs' work to make sure the money from the American company is received by the State Duma, which we'll then utilize as agreed earlier," he said.

"The motherhood and childhood committee should consider what purposes this money can be used for, [and] if they have difficulties with money, think about which assets to seize."
