Ukrainian FM Kuleba invites Kuwait to join Ukraine's reconstruction

MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba has said he believes Kuwait might join projects for Ukraine's reconstruction.

"In Kuwait, I met with Waleed Al-Bahar, Acting Director of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, to invite Kuwait to take part in the reconstruction of Ukraine. We discussed social and humanitarian projects, particularly school and hospital construction," Ukrainian media quoted Kuleba as saying on his social account.

As reported by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry press service, Waleed Al-Bahar said his fund was willing to attend the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London at the end of June and that cooperation with Ukraine would be among the fund's priorities.

Kuleba and Al-Bahar attached special significance to socially-oriented projects, such as the construction of new hospitals, schools, and kindergartens, as well as psychological support and rehabilitation programs in Ukraine.

They agreed to arrange a meeting of Ukrainian and Kuwaiti experts in the near future to thoroughly discuss prospects for cooperation.

Kuleba said during the meeting that, "in the general perspective of post-crisis recovery, Ukraine will probably become the largest construction site in the world."

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development is a government institution involved in development projects totaling $21.8 billion in 105 countries around the world.
