Belavia to do maintenance on Russian airlines' planes

MINSK. April 17 (Interfax) - Belavia has secured the right to conduct maintenance on the aircraft of Russian airlines following a certification audit by Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency, the Belarusian airline reported.

The certificate grants Belavia the right to carry out a list of permitted line and base maintenance work on aircraft registered in Russia, as well as maintenance on certain categories of components installed on these planes.

Belavia has extensive maintenance capabilities, including a specialized aircraft maintenance facility, the company said.

Prior to the imposition of western sanctions in February 2022, Russian aircraft had maintenance done on their foreign-made planes primarily in the United States and Europe.
