Ukraine hoping for India's productive role in ending crisis
MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - Ukrainian First Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova has invited India to join the post-crisis recovery of Ukraine and expressed hope for a productive role of New Delhi in ending the crisis.
"Hopefully, India, which is presiding in the G20 and is an influential global actor, will play a pro-active role in ending the crisis and ensuring lasting peace and will join the post-crisis recovery of Ukraine," the Ukrainian media quoted Dzhaparova as saying on Wednesday after a two-day visit to New Delhi and meetings with the Indian leadership.
Dzhaparova discussed stronger cooperation with Indian Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Lekhi and handed over letters from Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
At the end of the visit, the sides agreed to hold foreign political consultations, to resume operation of the Ukrainian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, Industrial and Cultural Cooperation, and to increase humanitarian assistance, the press release said.
