Ukrainian Railways suspends transportation of feed grains to Poland

MOSCOW. April 12 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Railways has suspended transportation of feed grains to Poland.

Restrictions apply to grains, including those labeled 233 in their shipping documents indicating that they are intended for feeding livestock, Ukrainian media reported citing the Ukrainian Railways website.

The temporary ban will apply to transportation via the Izov border checkpoint. The convention will be in effect from April 13 until its repeal and will apply to all recipients.

Ukrainian Railways has already banned transportation of feed grains to Poland via Izov starting on February 27, but the convention was repealed in March.

On April 9, the convention on cargo transportation to the Szczecin Port Central station in Poland for the Polish rail operator PKP Cargo took effect. Restrictions apply to wheat and meslin, rye, barley, oats, corn, rice, grain sorghum, buckwheat, millet and canary seeds, cereals, dextrin and modified starches, and adhesives based on them.
