Russia's Industry and Trade Ministry expects country's domestic share of electronics manufacturers to double in 2023
MOSCOW. April 12 (Interfax) - Domestic manufacturers of radio electronics could double their share on the local market in 2023, and Russia is currently assimilating the production of technological equipment for the industry, Deputy Prime Minister and Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said as part of the government hour in the Federation Council.
"Last year alone, the production of more than a thousand electronics products was assimilated. We will continue to increase the pace in order to double the Russian share on the domestic market this year. In absolute terms, this is still not enough, of course, but we have set the goal of increasing our presence to 70% by 2030," Manturov said.
Manturov stressed that the authorities would focus strategically on overcoming dependence on foreign technologies along the entire chain of producing electronic products.
"In order to do this, we are assimilating the manufacturing of technological equipment for lithography, etching and growing crystals; increasing the production of special materials and high-purity gases; and developing computer-aided design systems and software for the domestic electronic component base," Manturov said.
The Industry and Trade Ministry has not specified what the share of domestic manufacturers of radio electronics currently is in the Russian Federation.
