Kremlin not discussing relaunch of privatization process in Russia - Peskov

MOSCOW. April 11 (Interfax) - The Kremlin is not discussing a relaunch of the privatization process in Russia, but the opinion of an acclaimed economist like VTB CEO Andrei Kostin is interesting, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Journalists asked Peskov on Tuesday whether the Kremlin was discussing Kostin's idea of relaunching the privatization process in Russia.

"The Kremlin is not discussing this, but obviously, all economists, experts and authoritative parties in our national economic life and the banking sector are discussing a variety of issues associated with the acceleration of national economic development under the current circumstances. So, of course, the opinion voiced by Kostin - who, after all, heads the second largest bank in Russia and has gained huge authority in the banking sector as an economist over decades - is rather interesting from this perspective," Peskov said.
