Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada endorses tax incentives for int'l transactions of national defense industry

MOSCOW. April 11 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada has supported the national defense industry by exempting it from import duties and VAT, the Ukrainian media said on Monday with the reference to the Verkhovna Rada's website.

"The idea is to exempt from VAT the goods of the Defense Ministry and the Ukrainian Armed Forces imported into the Ukrainian customs territory, [...] undergoing customs clearance outside the Ukrainian customs territory, and/or products of their processing returned to the Ukrainian customs territory as imports after repairs and/or maintenance," deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak from the Golos faction said on social media.

The bill also exempts from VAT the provision of military software services, the international transfer of which is subject to state control, he said.

Members of the pro-presidential faction Servant of the People initiated the bill.
