Russian parliamentary commission approves allocation of 86.5 bln rubles for land transport projects

MOSCOW. April 10 (Interfax) - The federal assembly commission for the redistribution of budget appropriations has approved for allocation of 86.5 billion rubles to the regions until 2025 for implementing infrastructure projects for the integrated development of urban ground electric transport, road transport, chairperson of the State Duma committee on the budget, co-chairman of the commission Andrei Makarov told reporters.

"The funds will be used for the construction and reconstruction of more than 600 km of tram lines, the supply of more than 600 new trams, and the purchase of 27 electric buses and charging stations. The total cost of the projects is 254.9 billion rubles, for the purchase of electric buses, and infrastructure for them at 16.4 billion rubles," Makarov said.

The federal assembly commission for the redistribution of budgetary appropriations was created in the spring of 2020, at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, to more quickly redistribute budgetary funds (without amending the budget) to needy industries and regions.
