Ukrainian parliament terminates agreement with Russia on border-crossing by border regions residents

MOSCOW. April 10 (Interfax) - The Verkhovna Rada has terminated a Ukrainian-Russian agreement on the order of crossing the Ukrainian-Russian state border by residents of border regions, the Ukrainian media reported, citing member of the Golos faction in the Ukrainian parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

This agreement was ratified on February 22, 2012. According to an explanatory note, the termination of the agreement will reinforce the state control over the entry and stay of Russian citizens in Ukraine amid threats to Ukraine's national security.
