Russia registers 8,915 new cases of Covid-19, 38 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. April 7 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 8,915 new cases of Covid-19 and 38 related deaths over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.

Russia "has recorded 8,915 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,167 patients were hospitalized during the day, up 1% from the day before," the headquarters said.

According to the headquarters, the number of hospitalizations increased in 34 Russian constituent territories, declined in 40, and remained unchanged in 11.

Daily morbidity has decreased by 456 cases from 9,371 recorded on Thursday.

Thirty-eight patients have died from Covid-19 over the past day versus 39 the day before.

"Another 10,685 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, down 1.8% from April 6," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 22,698,025 cases of Covid-19, including 397,497 deaths and 22,070,993 recoveries.
